Paranoid Parents, that’s what you can call us. Saturday morning was a continuation of the week, he still didn’t want to eat and he was panting heavy. So we decided to take him to our vet just to make sure everything was OK. He spent all morning just laying Tony’s chair. See below (and yes that is a smile)

“What a day! All those peeeps to pet me, and Grandma and Grandpa and swimming with my little cutie pie! But dang, that’s a lot of work with only three legs (even for SuperDog) and now I am just tired and I feel kind of crummy.”
Careful with the Tram, we found Tate was much better without it. He and Tram just didn’t get along. That may be what’s causing Bogart’s heavy panting. You just have to tolerate the ups and downs until he doesn’t need it anymore – he will be SO much better then.
bogart – you are definitely a superdog!!!!! glad you are feeling better, finding your new normal. tramadol made gayle pant too, and made her a wee bit giddy (think bad acid trip,or such)..but it is a good pain med when needed. glad you are getting through this, mom, it’s hard on the caregivers!!
Abby seemed VERY depressed post amp. It comes with the pain meds and the recovery. She would only perk up if someone came to visit. It was like she was mad at us and didn’t want to seem ok with everything in front of us, but of course that was just us putting our emotions into her head.
You’ll see your old boy back for good once he’s off the meds and has his staples out. He really looks like he’s doing great and loving all the extra attention that comes with being a Tripawd!

I had the same reaction when Lupe was weighed for the first time after her surgery…I was so worried that she had lost another pound or so and then I realized she had lost a leg. Oh the laughter between me and the vet techs!
